STYLE REVIEW: The Faux Leather Sheath Dress

STYLE REVIEW: The Faux Leather Sheath Dress

You can never go wrong with the classic fit of the sheath dress.  A style that will transition from season to season and year to year.

I fell in love immediately when I saw this dress.  I loved the way they modernized this dress by presenting it in a breathable faux leather and added figure flattering piping - which guides the eye to an hour glass silhouette.

I had to do a Style Review on this piece.  So here, it is short and sweet on my W.I.W (Why It Works).

STYLE REVIEW:  Faux Leather Sheath Dress

  • Simple, yet BOLD in statement. - Remember when dressing and keeping a stylish look, Keep It Simple!  Less truly IS More.
  • Sheaths slim and flatter the shape.  Just like the one here the right fit and color can actually slim and elongate the shape.  Because of the taught (NOT TIGHT) fit, it can also double as a smoothing "girdle" shape wear piece.
  • Appropriate for Work or Play.  This is a perfect piece that's easy to transition from work to after hours.  A simple change in accessories, like purse, heels, or jewelry and WHAM you are on our way!
  • Faux leather, affordable version of trend.  Just in time of Fall 2013, you will begin to see leather EVERYWHERE.  We saw alot of leather during the summer so you can only imagine the parade of leather you will see this fall.
  • Piping creates shapely silhouette.  The piping and different textures are perfectly designed to guide the eye to see an hourglass shape.  The pipping and texture placement of this dress is serves the same flattering purpose as color blocking (done right).
  • Style Refined....Simply put, no need to further explain.
For those looking to duplicate this look or to get styled, shoot me a line and let's talk about it.

Fall 2013 Fashion Fever

It's pretty safe to say that I eat, love, BREATH Fashion!  I'm an observer and a proud participant of the art (yessss, art).  And much like an artist I can find inspiration anywhere and just about in anything... So when I tell you that I've sadly but surely become tired of or lack of a better phrase, "Sick Of" fashion as of late, I truly have...and it's sad, I know.

I'd like to think I'm pretty much like any other female when it comes to clothing, styles, trends, or fashion.  There's that thin line between, a Love/Hate relationship if you will.  Fashion and I have had this relationship tango since before I can remember.  It's all love when the latest styles match with my personal taste, or flatter my body shape, or agree with my budget for that matter.  But on the other hand it's all hate when there are more trends coming out than logic, when the lines of age appropriateness are constantly tested or blurred, or when questionable styles are pushed of you to adapt to, like the whole turban with the huge knot in front phase I'm seeing females wear now....I'm sorry, I'm just not feeling that one...AT ALL!
My apologies, I digress.

So just as I'm beginning to transform into the Scrooge of Fashion & Style I open my mailbox today and receive a little piece of heaven!  Thanks to the latest issue of ELLE magazine and a couple other fashion catalogs I subscribe to.  Instantly, I was catapulted into Fall Fashion 2013 and I LOVE IT!!!

We're talking about beautiful day time appropriate sheer blouses and separates, pairing of contrast textures like chiffon or lace with faux BREATHABLE leathers, bold color combinations of Black & White, Jewelry, Accessories, and Shoes that are simple in style yet bold in statement.  I love it, love it, love it!

Uggggh, you know what it's like when you see something that's just right, or when someone really connects to and understands what you're trying to say?  That feeling of satisfaction or relief?  Well, THAT'S how the fall fashion of 2013 is, simply put.  I'm excited and inspired.  I want to blog about it, post to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, AND Polyvore all at the same time!  And you know what I'll be doing just that!

Be sure to follow the blog, and my social media posts for ideas and inspirations on how to wear this upcoming seasons styles...

Oh what a wonderful feeling to be in Love, yet again.
